California general trout season opener is tomorrow! So many options, great weather and abundant water. Where are you going to go?

Pyramid Lake is fishing okay. With the LCT in full spawn it can be tough to see so many fish and not have them all willing to eat. Try casting beyond the cruising fish to pick the trout that are more willing to take a fly.

The Truckee River is high but fishing well. Focus on the edges and seams near the sides of channel. These will be most productive using Stoneflies, Worm patterns and attractor nymphs.
